One day in Hamburg

What does it mean to have a sight-seeing tour in Hamburg? Well, rise up with the sun and take the train from Emden to Hamburg. From Emden to Hamburg you have to travel about 3 and a half hours but you don't have to take care about a parking site and traffic jam.

Once arrived in Hamburg we went to the wrong exit of the train station and found ourselves in the
middle of a scruffy neighbourhood. Unfortunately, I was a little bit scared about the hookers and the rest so I decided not to make any foto. So, take care which way you choose to exit at the train station.

Hamburg with about 2.500 brigdes has a beautiful inner city with several points of interest like the town hall with its town hall square. I guess each historical building has its own story to tell, especially those that don't have big signs are interesting, aren't they? The two panoramas are from the canal near the inner Alster and the town hall square. I consider them the most beautiful places on our tour. Hamburg, besides its rich history, also is an international metropolis which is reflected by the colorful and diversified impression.

The Alster sea in Hamburg is an artifically build storage lake and offers, with its restaurant, its benches and its panorama, a great place to have a break and relax. After relaxing, we got hungry and decided to look for a cheap possibility to have a meal -> Kebap :-)
OK, let's have a break and after our meal we go to Speicherstadt.

Speicherstadt is a part of Hamburg on the small islands. It's used to charge and discharge goods from all over the world and has a rich history and interesting old buildings. A well-known magazine is resided next to Speicherstadt. The whole Speicherstadt is built on top of oak trunks and is completely surrounded by water. Have a look at this link in german.

Besides a lot of culture, Hamburg also has some geat shopping streets. So let's go shopping
! But first, the coffe break :-)

We hope you enjoyed our sight-seeing tour to Hamburg and send the best regards,

Inés and Sebastian
